Users review: Quite simply, this is one of the best family films of all time. The fact that someone other than Disney made the film seems to have blinded some scholars (eg Disney scholar and film critic Leonard Maltin) the many different spells. For Chitty, actually originated in the book of James Bond creator Ian Fleming and horror of horrors, was produced outside the Hollywood Albert Broccoli, the man behind the successful Bond film series. Nevertheless, a look at the credits reveals the presence of the same composers, much heralded Sherman Brothers and Irwin Kostal, who could do no wrong when he wrote for Disney, but somehow let his talent when she was signed by Mr. broccoli . (Note:. In his 2007 movie guide that forgettable film music Maltins reaction) The same probably happened choreographer Dee Dee Wood and Marc Breaux, who are recognized for their work on Mary Poppins, widely but ignored, at least Maltin, for an elegant and often complicated routines in Chitty. In fact, songs, background music and dance here are as good as or better than anything at Disney and often actually promoting the action instead of grinding kept him in more conventional modalities reindeer. An example is Caractacus Old Bamboo song and dance routine, which not only offers direct memorable tune (and dance), as well as funds for the salvation of Chitty dump. The cast itself is nothing less than excellent, the American comic actor Dick Van Dyke wisely avoids any attempt at an English accent, something many of our own, with the desire to have a few years to do instead of Poppins. (In 1998, appearance on the Rosie O'Donnell show modest Mr. Van Dyke recognized limitations in an English accent.) Actors playing the children are very happy and graceful account, sincere, without sentimental, while the supporting cast is filled with wonderful British actors than can be counted, not the least of which is Lionel Jeffries (actually & scaron, EST months younger than Van Dyke, whose father played) and comedy legend Benny Hill in a rare straight role. And if that's enough, there is always a scene Goldfinger himself (German actor Gert Fröbe) sings and dances! Then there's simply gorgeous cinematography Christopher Challis, beautiful costumes Joan Bridge and Elizabeth Haffenden and fantastic production proposal Oscar-winning designer Ken Adam, whose high ceilings and angled walls are instantly recognizable classics as Goldfinger and Dr.. Strangelove. And unlike Poppins, who inexplicably praised for its clear studio London street entertainment, this film is actually happening on the ground - and then some, will present a truly beautiful area in the south of England, France and Germany (including the fantastic fairytale castle Neuschwanstein). Maltin and others have complained films special effects, they all call shoddiest. What they say about bluescreen traveling matte shots, which for a magical beam of self-shot film on the sky background was placed visually. A súhlasíms that some of these pictures are clear, film students who know how to reach them. But again, look what overlooked. The car itself, which runs through several conversions for aviation and maritime transport, is amazing mechanical special effects designed and built by John Stears. Stears, of course, won an Oscar for SFX on Thunderball and would go on to win another for a movie called Star Wars. But never mind, you would know about the special effects? Oh, I said that the script was co-written by Roal Dahl, someone who could be on the stories of children. Known only a thing or two But enough. This movie is really great from the first frame to the last, timeless treat for everyone, but the Hollywood film critics.
